The girls behind Mtnbabes aim to represent those ‘tough’ girls who know how to get out there and understand why those tallest peaks have to be scaled. They strive to be all they can be and to take on and overcome even the toughest challenges. They want women to thrive outdoors and appreciate the power of the mountain.

HISTORY
Although there were already many photos in line with the mountain babes philosophy in existence, the first ‘official’ photo was taken in 2011 at the summit of ‘Long’s Peak,’ one of the Colorado 14ers which are the 14 peaks of the state of Colorado higher than 4270m above sea level. Their first source of inspiration presented itself in the form of a group of local Tellurudian women with whom they concluded that, in the world of outdoor activities, female participation was severely lacking. They also concluded that what today’s girls need is some form of inspiration to get them up, off the sofa and outside. Thus, Mtnbabes was born.
Their motivation lies in the idea of being able to inspire as many mountain girls as they possibly can and, although they would love to see themselves all over the world, the story starts in the states of America and Canada.
